Terms of Service
Last updated: July 28, 2026
These terms govern your use of STL Diff Online (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. They're written to be readable, not to be impressive.
The Service
STL Diff Online has two parts. The free tier is a single-page tool that compares two STL files entirely in your browser - we do not receive or store those files. Premium is a signed-in area where you can store projects of STL models with their revision history, review diffs and invite collaborators; the models you upload there are stored on our servers to provide those features.
Accounts
Premium requires you to sign in (through a third-party identity provider). You are responsible for the activity under your account and for the content you upload, and for keeping your sign-in secure. You can stop using Premium and ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.
Your content
You keep every right to your STL files. For the free tool we never receive them, so there is nothing for us to claim. For Premium projects you grant us only the limited permission we need to run the Service - to store, process, version and diff your models and to show them to the collaborators you invite. We do not claim ownership of your models and do not use them for anything other than providing the Service to you. The site itself - the layout, the diff implementation, the wordmark - is owned by us.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to overwhelm, probe, or disrupt the Service (e.g. flooding our endpoints).
- Use automated tools to submit feedback messages or waitlist signups.
- Upload content you don't have the rights to, or use the Service for anything illegal under the laws of your jurisdiction.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We work hard to make the diff engine correct, but we don't guarantee that it is bug-free or fit for any specific engineering decision. Don't use the output as the sole basis for a manufacturing or safety-critical choice without independent verification.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Where the Service is used without payment, our total liability to you is limited accordingly. Where you hold a paid subscription, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Availability and changes
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also pause or shut down the Service. We'll try to give notice on the home page if a major change is coming.
Premium and billing
Premium features - projects, revision history, review links and collaboration - work on a free account, subject to the limits published on the plans page. Pro is a paid subscription that raises those limits: €5 per month or €50 per year at the current early access price, charged in advance and renewing automatically until you cancel. If we raise the price, subscriptions that already exist keep the price they started on for as long as they stay active.
Payments are taken by Stripe. Prices are shown in euros; any tax due in your country is calculated from the billing address you give at checkout, added there, and itemised on the invoice, which also names the seller for that sale. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal, and the plan then runs to the end of the period you have already paid for - we do not refund part-periods, and we do not delete anything when a plan ends. Your projects, revisions and past reviews stay exactly where they are and stay readable and downloadable; only adding beyond the free ceiling stops.
If a renewal payment fails, your plan stays active while Stripe retries; if it never succeeds, the account falls back to Free. A price change applies to new subscriptions, to anyone who subscribes again after cancelling, and to a switch between monthly and yearly billing, which starts the new period at the current price. Short of those, it does not change what an existing subscription is charged, which stays as described above for as long as that subscription stays active on the same billing period. If that ever has to change for a subscription already running, we will tell you before it takes effect and you can cancel first. None of this limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Entire agreement
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
